Engagement

You may not know this, but Ken is the most romantic guy you’ll ever meet. Even though Sara was expecting a great proposal (she watched TLC’s “A Perfect Proposal” for months in anticipation), Ken still managed to knock her socks off. He proposed to Sara while on the Big Island of Hawaii, as they overlooked an incredible sunset from a hill on her family’s property. There were candles, roses, Hawaiian music, a beautiful flower lei, champagne, sashimi (Sara’s favorite) and chocolate covered strawberries. He really got it right! Of course the best part was that he had tears in his eyes….and Oh Yeah…the spectacular ring!

We decided to celebrate our engagement with a four month trip to Central and South America…We also managed to study some Spanish along the way. In lieu of official engagement photos, we want to share with you some of our favorite “us” pics from our fantastic adventure.

After a somewhat challenging horseback ride near Quepos, Costa Rica,
we relaxed under a waterfall-literally.

This hike through Monteverde cloud forest in Costa Rica was truly magical.

We couldn’t help but steal a kiss (or two)
during this spectacular Manuel Antonio sunset.

This was taken within a few moments of us
entering the ruins at Machu Picchu, Peru. The view left us both stunned.

We made time in our hectic schedule every day
for snorkeling in the Galapagos Islands.

It’s amazing the friends we made just laying around on the beach.
